Just something interesting I thought I might share with you.
Recently my Partner's brother Steve had a holiday in Spain where he purchased a reproduction of a poster from 1932 advertising a Soccer game between Barcelona and Valencia. I loved the image so much I photographed it and spent hours in photoshop tidying it up so I could print it on a t-shirt for him. While doing this work I though why don’t I find out more about this particular soccer game.
This is what I found out!
On Sunday, January 17, 1932, Barcelona played against Valencia in a soccer match that took place during the 1931–1932 La Liga season. The game was held at Les Corts, which was Barcelona's home stadium at the time.
Barcelona defeated Valencia with a score of 5-1.
Josep Samitier, who was one of Barcelona's legendary players, scored three of their goals. The other two goals for Barcelona were scored by Goiburu and Arocha.
This game was part of the league competition, and the win for Barcelona helped them in their campaign during that season.
Barcelona dominated throughout the game. Their attacking was relentless, and as a team they coordinated brilliantly.
This was a significant win for Barcelona as it showed how strong they were in the Spanish league during the 1930’s.
